This place has awesome sandwiches and a big variety of to go meals, snacks, and drinks. Really love the vegetarian sandwich. Bi Chay. They also have great customer service and very cheap, reasonable prices for the amount you get.

My wife and I usually go to the Lees in Downtown SJ and never had any problems. Since we've moved back to the Peninsula, the Sunnyvale location is the only one that's closest to us.
Our biggest gripe isn't the location, parking or quality of the food, but their service. It is so bad we will not be returning to this location ever again. We arrived one hour before closing and didn't think it would be a problem as far as service goes. We were wrong. We placed 2 sandwich orders and a few minutes later we were told they were out of baguettes and if croissants were ok. Ok fine. A few minutes later, a couple walks in and places their order. The person behind the counter said the same thing to us to them a moment later after they ordered. Seriously? So he knew they were out of baguettes and yet still took their order and money without informing them beforehand that they were out of baguettes. The lady wanted another type of sandwich, since she did not want the type of meat with the croissant, but the cashier told her it was already being prepared therefor she had no choice. What is the point of asking if croissant is ok then?
Anyways, the lady from the back grudging walks to the front to make fresh baguettes because more people were coming in to place similar orders. My wife notices this and asks if our sandwiches were to be with baguettes rather than croissants since it was what we originally have wanted. Nope. He said our sandwiches are already being be prepared so it's too late. Whatever. Fine. Minutes later he hands me the order in the bag and was astounded what he told me. He said usually croissants are a dollar more than the baguettes and because they did not have baguettes (but later made more?), he would not charge extra for me for this one time. He sounded as if he were doing me a favor by the manner in which he said it. It really irked me.
This place is really cheap -- and cheap not meaning price wise. The pate spread on my wife's sandwich was laughable, if you can even call it a spread. It was barely a smudge of pate when we opened the sandwich. We never had any issues at the Downtown SJ and the Cupertino location at all. They also didn't want to make more baguettes. I understand it's an hour before closing and if they don't intend to make more or not wanting to serve anymore hot food then they should relay that to their customers prior before taking orders.
This location is a no go. -

I know the drill here. Skimpy amount of meat, pate', and veggies. I actually came here quite frequently but it's been quite a while since last time.
I walked in and noticed the prices at $5.50 for my sandwich, plus the extra charge for a very light spread of pate'. ??? I walked out empty handed.
This review is not about the food. The sandwiches are really a quite a tasty snack. They're just not worth the price. -

If you want strong Vietnamese coffee look in further! Lee's sandwich sells the bottled concentrate stuff 3/$12. The guy told me buy two get one free. You can probably buy it in bulk at Costco...but Costco doesn't have fresh $2 baguette!

Lee's Sandwiches is the McDonalds of Vietnamese sandwiches. It's a chain that hits the spot when you're craving a quick, cheap sandwich for lunch. They specialize in baguette sandwiches, unlike other authentic Vietnamese sandwich places bake giant fluffy loaves of bread. Lee's also have other pastries and even croissant sandwiches.
I always come here for the same thing, their combination sandwich. Sometimes I'll grab a cup of Vietnamese coffee or sugar cane juice as well.
Everything here is cheap and good. The staff are friendly and quick. Plenty of parking in the plaza. It's never crazy busy so that's a plus.
